Trainer's Responsibilities Under HISA

HISA’s Anti-Doping and Medication Control (ADMC) rules and regulations were approved by the FTC on March 27, 2023, and were implemented on May 22, 2023.  Among these new rules are extensive requirements for trainers regarding their horses’ treatments, claiming reports, and continuing education. 

In the coming days, On Track will provide an informative series that aims to provide guidance on the actions trainers must take to comply with their obligations under HISA. This series will cover registration rules, record keeping, shockwave regulations, new claiming rules, and continuing education requirements for trainers and their assistants.
